RESUMO

O objetivo deste artigo é traçar um breve balanço da historiografia inglesa surgida entre o final do século XVII e XVIII. Para isso, procuramos apresentar uma sucinta evolução da historiografia da Inglaterra, oferecendo uma visão abrangente acerca das diferentes interpretações da história inglesa moderna, enfatizando algumas produções que tiveram como objeto de estudo a história da Inglaterra pré-setecentista.
